In a pot or the kitchen sink, dissolve 1 tbsp of washing soda and 1 tbsp of salt in hot water. About a quart of water
Place a sheet of aluminum foil or aluminum pie pan on bottom of whatever you filled with the hot water mixture, then place your silver pieces on the aluminum totally submerged, wait about 10 seconds then remove and rinse.

In a pot, line the bottom with aluminum foil or an aluminum pie pan that fits and add a pinch of salt and about a quart of water. Bring the water to a boil on the stove.
After the water reaches boiling, remove it from the stove and dissolve about a ΒΌ cup of baking soda into the water.
When the baking soda is dissolved, place your silver in contact with the aluminum and submerged under the water. Repeat as necessary.
